Infrastructure

NKAI has made significant investments in creating and providing key areas of digital infrastructure for its membership with the aim of supporting schools, their staff and students.

NKAI is working closely with Duane Grace and his team from Firstec to create a deliver a range of technology services to support kura within the network.

Kura Management System
KMS

The KMS is currently being trialed by four of our Kura. The intention is to send out regular updates to all Kura about the progress of this project to ensure everyone is informed.

Te Kapua
The Cloud

The Microsoft 365 Cloud continues to be available for all Kura with a series of workshops available to ensure the successful implementation of the program. To discuss the options, contact Duane Grace at Firstec.

IT Academy

The IT Academy is now available to all Kura following two years of trials. Originally the IT Academy was targeted toward students however following a review of the programme, the focus has now changed.

The IT Academy is now focussed on providing PLD to teachers to become MOS Certified. This internationally recognised qualification will ensure teachers are able to deliver the IT Academy in their Kura to either students or teachers, or both. A flyer will be out this week with details on the new direction and also how your kura can get involved.

If you would like more information on implementing the IT Academy into your Kura either for Students or Staff, please contact Duane Grace at Firstec or Te Rāhui August Sutherland at Ngā Kura ā Iwi.

Iwi & Government Partnerships

Members of the Kura ā Iwi network represent our collective on many Boards, Advisory Groups, Review teams and others for Iwi, the Ministry of Education, the Education Council, NZQA, ERO and more. The most important role is not only to receive the information but more importantly to be actively at the table participating and advocating for our kaupapa.
